CLAPSTICKS WITH BEE & WITCHETTY GRUB
Hand carved by the Jinibara people, a one-of-a-kind set of clapsticks.
These clapsticks tell the story of the native bee totem as well as camp sites and the Jinibara's connection to the universe.
"These clapsticks have many symbols. Two circles means resting place with a walkway between it. Then we have the women’s meeting place and the men’s meeting place. We also have some dots and circles which are the stars, the moon and universe. The sun is on one side and the native been and a witchetty grub. That’s a delicacy for us."
